Well that was sickening.  -___-  I respect Karthik a lot but…ugh…the post in question was not even referring to the “incident” but the process afterwards and the professionalism expressed by those involved.  Ugh…I could say more but…ugh.   

Because I cannot ask or submit to your blog, exclusiveornamentation, I will respond here and hope you see it and that also you think about your word choice, as it really does make all the difference.

Sickening is an adjective used to describe something or someone who causes nausea or disgust. Rape is beyond sickening. “The Human Centipede” was (yes, arguably) sickening. Photos of children in underdeveloped countries who are malnourished are sickeningly heartbreaking. The injustice that 1114 suffered by the hand of this individual is pretty much sickening. The fact that Jane Young looks at this travesty and sees nothing more than a learning experience is absolutely sickening. 

Karthik expressing his justified opinion on a public forum where the team he pours his soul into is repeatedly bashed and slandered is not what one would classically categorize as “sickening.” To an outsider, perhaps the whole “experience” was enlightening and informative. But by definition, outsiders don’t have a dog in this fight. Unless you were directly affected by the events at Champs 2012, or the investigation afterwards, keep your mouth shut. Your opinion means nothing. Literally, nothing. YOU didn’t have a World Championship stolen from you. YOU weren’t violated by this person who turned your robot into a vegetable at whim. YOU didn’t struggle with FIRST for weeks and weeks while the investigation was taking place and the report wasn’t being written to your standards. And I’m not just talking to you, exclusiveornamentation. Anyone who may be reading this in the FIRST community, this applies to you as well. No one has any right to judge the anger and frustration Karthik and the rest of the affected teams feel. And they can post about it wherever the topic is relevant. Because without the asshole who tampered with those robots, there would be no issue with Champs. And without the issue, there would be no investigation. And without the investigation, there would be no post on CD to praise its capacity for learning and growth. In the case of Karthik’s post, he was indeed very relevant.

Bottom line, the whole “process” is bullshit. There has been no punishment, no apology, and no responsibility has been taken by those who made a mockery of the 2012 FIRST World Championships. 

And exclusiveornamentation, Karthik has seen what you wrote. He was the one who sent me to your post. You may be anonymous, so we’ll never know who you are. But I hope you feel badly for bashing a man you “respect.”

I’M HAVING A CONNIPTION RIGHT NOW. WHO WAS THE MORON IN FIRST IN CHARGE OF DIVISION ASSIGNMENTS FOR WORLDS THIS YEAR!? YOU’RE REALLY GOING TO PUT 67, 1114, AND 2056 ON THE SAME FIELD :’D IT’S JUST A SHAME YOU’LL HATE ON THEM FOR TEAMING UP AND WINNING AFTER THE FACT, ASSHOLES. THE OTHER DIVISIONS LITERALLY DO NOT STAND A CHANCE.

I can stop typing in caps now. I’m still blown away. If 1114 doesn’t win this year, I’m leaving FIRST for good. I wish I could be there with my Karth and Simbots. And Geoff! WHAT’S HE GOING TO DO WITHOUT GIRL GEOFF? 

This is going to be one hell of a weekend. Do it to it, gang.
